International Baccalaureate
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program provides highly motivated students with an opportunity to participate in a challenging, comprehensive and rigorous college preparatory/liberal arts curriculum featuring an interdisciplinary approach and student-centered learning experiences. To earn the IB Diploma a student must earn a minimum of 24 points in six subject area exams (scale of 1-7, 7 being the highest score), complete creativity-action-service (CAS) activities, complete the Theory of Knowledge course, and write an original 4,000 extended essay.
The IB program accepted 105 students for the class of 2028; student achievement tests, middle school scholastic records and student essays provide a measuring tool for acceptance. The IB enrollment is 312 students with a senior class of 58 students.
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
